For my end of studies in computer graphics, I had to elaborate a big project in 3 domains. I had chosen: 3D, layout and web development. My idea was to elaborate a concept in 3D and make its advertisement in pre-press and on a dynamic website. As I wanted to create my own model of car with my knowledge in 3D, I thought if it was a good idea for my graduation work, and my teachers approved it and I started to work on it!
Again, I wanted something involved with "Synthwave", I really love this universe and I wanted to explore it one more time. So I had begun laying down in paper my ideas, then it was 100% modelling: first the body of the car then its interior. After, it was time for some renders, this time on "Arnold" rendering method, to obtain a realistic output. Then I have had to give everything a texture, as I had chosen the "Arnold" method, I have managed with the "Arnold" textures, mainly with applying bitmap images except for the body, which was pure matte colour painting.
After this long work, I could think about the communication. I have begun with the papers, I thought about: a folder, a invitation card and a A2 poster. In short, the things linked to a "auto show". So I first realize the works without images of the car. After finish the lay-out, I incorporated rendered images, firstly touched up on Adobe Photoshop® to integrate correctly its destination.
For the poster, it was "simply" a high-resolution screenshot from an another thing I had to create: a short video that introduce the car. So I have re-opened 3DsMax to, this time, create a environment and animate the car for a ride. Then the animation was going to be used in the website as the first slide. For the poster, I manipulated the rendered picture to give it a "Synthwave" seal.
Then for the website, I wanted it to be a "showcase-site". Like the folder, but animated and interactive. The information are managed in PHP with its back-end office. The rest is HTML/CSS integration, with Bootstrap for the responsive side, and animated in CSS/jQuery.
